Darius Alberty, a junior at Brophy Prep in Arizona, placed second in the boys elite javelin throw with a lifetime-best 181-2 (55.22m) performance at the 84th NIKE Chandler Rotary Invitational in Chandler, Ariz. Alberty also placed runner-up last season with a mark of 167-5 (51.02m), but improved on his 176-3 (53.72m) effort from JavFest last year. Alberty ascended to the No. 12 all-time javelin competitor at the meet.
