Nathan Green Returns To Racing In IdahoPublished by
Elite Camper Nathan Green Won Boise City Meet In 15:00 By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor Nathan Green, a junior from Borah ID who attended Nike Elite Camp this summer, has returned to racing after a medical scare last month. Green won the Boise City Meet on Oct. 10 at Ann Morrison Park, covering 5K in 15:00.2. That's 26 seconds faster than he ran in the same meet last year. At the Bob Firman Invitational on Sept. 21, Green was running with eventual winner Thomas Boyden of Skyline UT when he collapsed at about the 2-mile mark. He received medical attention at the course before being taken to the hospital by his parents. Doctors have continued to monitor him since then, but a stress test did not reveal any problems. Green attended Nike Portland XC but did not race that week (Sept. 28), or the following week. The time he logged at the Boise City meet was a personal best. Green was 18th at Nike Cross Nationals last year, the highest placing sophomore in the race. The Idaho state meet is Nov. 2. Marlowe Hereford contributed to this report. |
