Habtamu Wetzel, a sophomore from Star Valley WY, joins DyeStat editor Doug Binder to discuss his Class 4A victory last weekend in Ethete, Wyo., where he broke 16 minutes for the first time with 15:48.1. Wetzel, who came to the United States from Ethiopia when he was 5, explains what makes Star Valley so special as a place to train and take part in outdoor activities. His older brother Asefa, a 2017 state champion in cross country, now competes for the University of Wyoming.
